Luca Of The Rebelion. Chapter 4: His Name Is Zero!

Chapter 4: His name Is Zero

****Interrogation Room****

“Do you know anything about this weapon? Shawn Kagan,”Jeremiah asked Shawn. “It’s the one that was used to rob Prince Clovis of his life. The barrel striations leave no doubt and we’ve also done a little homework on you as well. You’re the son of America’s last acting President are you not? Your motive here is clear.” Jeremiah said.

“You’re making a mistake, I have never laid eyes on that weapon before.” Shawn defended.

A soldier kicked Shawn’s chair and forced him to fall out of his chair onto the ground.

“We found your fingerprints all over this weapon. You’re also suspected of murdering members of the Royal Guard. Come clean now and you’ll be judged as if you were born a Brittanian. Not some worthless 11.”

“You’re wrong. I’ve done nothing!”

The same soldier delivered a hard kick to Shawn’s head, rendering him unconscious.

*****Irrione Living Quarters*****

I helped Anna Lee out of her wheelchair and lied her down on her bed. She was very light weight but still took a bit of lifting.

“That was Shawn that they mentioned on the news wasn’t it?” She asked after I set her down.

“Yeah, looks like he’s still alive.” Lying her down on her back, grabbing her blanket.

“Yeah, it’s been ages. We haven’t seen him since the war ended. Even we…Luca. It wasn’t true what the news said was it?”

“Of course not. Shawn would never do anything like that. They just made a mistake.”

“Right…Must be.”

“Goodnight, Anna Lee.” I pulled the covers over her as she fell asleep, silently.

*****Terrorist Hideout*****

“That’s why we should’ve issued a statement sooner! We could have taken credit for it!”

Kazz walked off out of Otto’s room, stomping furiously. Slamming the door as he left. Otto turned in his chair to face a picture of Josh, Collin, and him. All together during happier times.

“Josh….I’m not cut out for this. I’m no leader.”

******Hotel Room*****

I listened to the report that old man Dallas was giving me. I had asked him to work on a particular…Outfit for me.

“Yes. Everything is just as you requested. We have the best in the business working on it. Once the slide system is in order, it’s all yours. Once I’ve erased all the evidence, I should forget this ever happened right?”

*****Ashford Academy*****

The entire school had all gathered into the assembly hall that day. The principal of the school, Milly’s grandfather, had requested that we all pay our respects to Prince Clovis. Not really my kind of place. Especially being Clovis’ real murderer.

“Truly this has been a painful incident for all. The Viceroy of Area 11, our beloved Prince Clovis, has been lost to us forever. However, we can and will bear the weight of this tragedy. And from the darkest of hours, we will draw strength.”

A large flock of Doves had just been released. The flock flew past the window. Most likely to be a tribute to Colvis.

*****A.S.E.E.C.’s Garage*****

“Ooooh, we’ve lost the most crucial part of the equation.” Lloyd whined. He was staring at the Lancelot while it was hooked up to the computer.

“Can we do it without him?” Cecile questioned.

“Oh, don’t I wish. The other units never let go of a good pilot. Even if we did manage to get one they would never be able to match his readings. His operational efficiency clocked in at 94% and you want to replace him!?”

“You should tell them that, perhaps they’ll let Shawn go!”

“He’s an honorary Brittanian they’d never listen to me. Ever since Gen. Bartley’s disgrace, the pure-bloods have the military in an iron grip. Their view is one of their own can never be a criminal. But if the criminals an 11 it paves the way for Margrave Jeremiah to shut down the practice of granting natives honorary status.”

“So what about Shawn?’

“Unfortunately…His fate is all but decided.”

*****Ashford Academy*****

The principal dismissed us all after he gave his little speech. I walked along the corridors with the rest of the student body until Rivalz interrupted me.

“Hey Luca! You got anything goin’ on later? After all, classes have been canceled for the day. Folks have been asking for a rematch.”

“YOU ARE NOT GAMBLING YOU GUYS!” Sherry stopped in front of us and screamed at us…or really Rivalz.

“Oh come on don’t be such a stick in the mud.” Rivalz barked back.

“She’s right though maybe it’s time to call it quits. I found a better opponent actually.” I basically ignored the rest of the conversation as I saw Collin walk out. She was headed for the campus exit. No doubt heading to the location I told her to go. The Eiffel Tower.

*****Eiffel Tower*****

Collin arrived at the Eiffel Tower on time just as planned. The woman over the PA system continuously talked about how Brittania won victory over the U.S.A. Collin mainly looked at pictures that were created to show the war, waiting for contact from the mysterious voice.

The false Eiffel Tower, why here of all places?

A few more representatives of the terrorists arrived at 16:01. Collin walked over to them when the PA system changed.

Paging a Ms. Collin Stockdale of Ashford Academy. One of your personal belongings has been turned into the front desk at the Observation Deck.”

Collin walked away from her friends and went straight to the Observation deck. When she arrived she saw a woman wearing the usual employee outfit holding a sign with her name on it. Collin approched the woman.

“Hi, I assume this phone belongs to you mam.”

The girl reached into her coat pocket and pulled out a black cell phone with a weird logo on the back. Collin took it but stared at it for a moment.

“Is something wrong mam, it is yours isn’t it?”

“Y- yes. Thank you so much.”

Collin walked away from the desk and to the door to the balcony. The phone began to vibrate, she looked at the caller ID. The ID read ‘Zero’ on the screen.

*****Phone Conversation*****

Collin: “Um, hello.”

Luca: “I want you to board the outbound train on track 5, and bring your friends.”

Collin: “W- what?”
*****Military Office*****

Jeremiah turned in his chair to face Detard, who was standing in front of his desk.

“You handled his highness’ memorial program very well. A little to weepy for my tastes but…”

“Yes, well the masses tend to like tearjerkers, your excellency.”

“Spoken like a true TV man. Still I have to acknowledge the finesse you’ve shown. You did well in the short time you had. One would almost say you were expecting his highness to meet his untimely end.”

“Memorials for important people are traditionally planned out ahead of schedule.”

“Does that include me?”

“Recent events may have bumped you up the list a bit, your excellency.”

“In other words, I wasn’t deemed important enough until now is that it? How forthright of you.”

“I- I’m afraid so sir.”

“Ever thought of enlisting? The army could use men like you.”

“I don’t think it would be a very good fit. Not my standard cup of tea.”

“You prefer the civil sector is that it. No matter, I have another favor to ask of you. Tomorrow night, Shawn Kagan, will be transferred to his court martial-”

“-We should line the road with good patriotic Brittanians, is that it?”

“Excellent, you catch on quickly don’t you. Be sure the ravel can see his face.”

“Lord Jeremiah, there are those among the 11’s that see private Kagan as hero, some might make a very well attempt to free him.” Violetta interupted.

“I’ll be there personally aboard my Sutherland. IF anyone even thinks about interfering they’ll be executed on the spot!”

*****Train,Track 5*****

Collin, Otto and two more of her friends/Terrorists boarded the train like the voice had instructed them to. They rode along the center between what remained of Bismark and also the edge of the Brittanian city. The phone vibrated again, the caller ID giving the same name…Zero. Collin answered it, alerting the attention of her company.

*****Phone Conversation*****

Collin: “OK now what?”

Luca: “Face forward and look to your right. What do you see?”

Collin: “The Brittanian’s city. A stolen city, built on our sacrifice.”

Luca: “Now look left.”

Collin:”I see our city. The city made by Brittania squeezing us dry.

Luca:”Good answer. Now make your way to the front car.

*****Luca’s POV*****

Collin and her company made their way to the front of the train where I was waiting for them. The sliding doors opened as Collin and the rest of her company walked through.

“Was it you? The one on the phone.”

“Whoa, do you think this is a trap.”

I listened to them banter on.. I was wearing the disguise that I had Dallas create for me, my face hidden behind a mask. Everyone on the train except for the company were under my Aeon’s control. They were not to move from their spots until the train stopped.

“Tell us! Was it you in Bismark? Was that Cease-fire order your doing. Too?”

I turned around and faced them. Using a timer the power to the lights in the car went on off, darkening the room. “Well, what did you think of my tour of the settlement?”

“Your tour?”

“Oh, come on. There’s no way it was this joker.”

I paced forward towards them, slowly. “I wanted you to fully grasp the two. The settlement, and the ghetto.” I spread my arms out, my cloak opening to reveal the dark red color.

“Yeah, we know there’s a difference between us and them. A desperate difference! That’s why we resist them!” Otto said, stepping forward.

“You’re wrong. Brittania will not fall to terrorism. It’s little better than childish nuisance. Don’t mistake your enemy. It isn’t the Brittanian people, but Brittania itself! It is a war you must wage. But not on the innocent. Take up your sword, fight for justice!”

“Oh, please! That’s all easy enough to say isn’t it! Hiding behind that mask! Why should we even trust you!” Collin stated.

“She’s right!” “Yeah, loose the mask!” The other two shouted.

“So, will you loose the mask and show us your face!?” Otto said.

“Very well. I’ll show you. But rather than my face, bear witness to my power! If I deliver to you the impossible, then I might have earned your trust.”

*****Brittanian Jail*****
“Congratulations! The two people you asked about from Bismark weren’t on the list of casualties!” Lloyd informed Shawn, pulling up a fold up chair.

“That’s good to hear.”

“Unfortunately, however we’re not having very much luck on your end. You may be getting a trial, but nobody is on your side.”

“But the court is where truth comes to light!”

“Well, I expect there would be more smoke and mirrors than anything. The truth is scarce of late…”

:If that is how the world works…Then I have no regrets leaving it!”

*****Draw Bridge, Parade route*****

“Any moment. Any moment now! Just look at the crowds lining the streets. All of them waiting on baited breath. Waiting for the accused murderer of Prince Clovis to pass by. Honorary Brittanian, and former 11, Shawn Kagan.” The news reporter said at the bridge.

“Camera 5 is a little slow. Charles? Have you got your crowd set up yet?” Detard issued orders from within the news van. “What, the studio? Let em’ wait. There’s no delay. Everything is going according to plan. Here we go.”

The military rolled in with Shawn restrained. Four units, all of Prince Clovis’ former royal guard.

“I…I can see it! It’s Kagan the suspect! Shawn Kagan is headed this way!” The newsman reported.

The crowd yelled all sorts of hateful things towards Shawn. Murderer, scum, damned 11, we want our prince back.

*****A.S.E.E.C.’s Garage.*****

“This is insane, we know that Shawn is innocent!” Cecile said compiling the data from Lancelot.

“The court deemed our testimony inadmissible. There’s nothing more that we can do now.” Lloyd said watching the news to see Shawn on his transport.

“Yes, but…”

“Hmm…Is that altruism or humanitarianism?”

“This isn’t the time for your insipid word games!”

“Is there anything else that I can do then? We both know where this case is headed don’t we. We couldn’t reach him at the summit, all we can do is cut our losses really.”

*****Irrione Living quarters*****

Anna Lee sat in her wheelchair in the living room, listening to the television.

“Voices of resentment, voices of anger, all of these growing louder. Voices giving proof of the love the princes people had for him! Righteous voices which judge the terrorist!”

“Shawn!” Anna Lee cried listening to the TV.

******Parade route*****

“Margrave Jeremiah, whose personal efforts helped settle this case, will be residing over the trial as acting consul.” The news reporter announced.

******Luca’s POV******

I walked towards the vehicle from the terrorists rendezvous. My cape flowing with me, I hooked it across my chest as it clipped onto the gold pallets. Pulling my black leather gloves on, I pulled my collar over my mouth. Grabbing my mask I examined the inside to make sure the slide system would work. Pulling onto my face, the last bead of sweat of the anticipation. “Right, no need to turn back. The dice has already been cast.”

******Parade route*****

Acting Consul Jeremiah!” A soldier said over the radio.

“What is it?”

We have a vehicle approaching the bridge from third street. We just let it through as instructed.”

“Do you believe the target could be a terrorist vehicle?”

Well, sir…It’s Prince Clovis’ personal transport.”

“His majesty’s?! Well, it looks like we’ve got ourselves a comedian. Don’t worry about, let him through to us. All forces, halt!”

******Terrorist Hideout*****

The remaining terrorist members waited at the location they hid while Otto and Collin were out with Luca. They were all watching the news on the TV, seeing the parade moving on.

All forces, halt!”

“Hey they stopped! They really did!”

“Heh, it’s just a coincidence.”

“But he said Jeremiah would do that because he likes being the center of attention…”

*****Parade Route******

“No stop was scheduled here. Could there have been some sort of an accident?” The newsman said.

This is site 5, there’s a vehicle approaching.”

“It…..It’s prince Clovis’s personal transport!”

*****Luca’s POV*****

Collin drove the car towards the Military’s location.

“Hope they can’t tell it’s a fake.” She said in reference to the car. Her and Otto had built a fake version of the vehicle using a broken up car.

*****Garbage Heap Two Days Ago*****

Collin and Otto were the only two who had arrived after the gathering at the train. “So then it’s just the two of you, huh?”

“I’m sorry, but if we just had more time then we could get more people to understand–”

“No, the two of you will do just fine.”

“What! Don’t be ridiculous, do you know how many we’ll be facing!” Collin shouted.

“With your help I’ll clear the conditions of this task easily. I need this made by tomorrow.” I told them holding out a picture of Clovis’ car.

*****Parade Route******

Collin stopped the limousine in front of Jeremiah’s group.

“You there! Get out of that vehicle right now! Who dares imitate his highness’ personal transport!?”

I stood on the roof hidden behind the imperial flag that was cloaking the roof. I stepped on the switch and the flag ignited. The flag burst into flames as it went straight up the flag, vaporizing it. I was revealed to the crowd and the military. They all stood in shock at my appearance. “I am…Zero!”

*****News Van*****

“W-who is this man!? This masked man calling him Zero!? Standing before a full military convoy!?” The newsman said.

Detard stood in the van staring at the monitors looking at Zero.
“Zero? What do you mean like nothing?”

“Are we gazing upon a terrorist? Certainly not the wisest if such is the case.”

******Parade Route*****

I stood there while everyone panicked and questioned my appearance. “Now to return the favor, Shawn.”

“I’ve seen enough Zero! This little show of yours is over!” Jeremiah said. He raised his handgun into the air and shot it, signaling the Knights waiting the sky to deploy. The knights landed all around us, the wind blowing up my cape.

“First things first, why don’t you remove that mask.”

I raised my hand to my mask as if to remove it. I then raised my hand into the air and snapped my fingers. The cargo behind me fell apart revealing the container that supposedly contained the poison gas, the one Shawn and I found the girl in.

“What in the–!”

“Jeremiah be careful he’s got the poison gas!”

That’s right Jeremiah. You never saw inside this thing, so you assume it holds poison gas.”

I could hear the nearby newsman giving the report.

“Can all you watching at home see this!? It’s some sort of device. Although it’s purpose is unclear, stay with us. We’ll see if this so called terrorist has anything to say.”

“You bastard! He’s taken every Brittanian here hostage, without them even knowing it!”

Jeremiah raised his gun to me, pulling back the hammer, his laser sight at my chest. :You intend to shoot? I think you know full well what will happen if you do.” Lowering his gun he stood up straight, ready to hop back inside his knight.

“Fine, what are your demands?”

“An exchange. This, for Shawn Kagan.”

“Like hell! He’s charged with full treason, guilty of murdering a prince! I can’t hand him over!”

“No. You’re mistaken Jeremiah. He isn’t the murderer. The one who killed Clovis…Was myself!” I saw a camera man run up to the car, aiming his camera right in my face. I looked at the camera when I gave the announcement. The crowd was awe-struck. Countless gasps and whispers could be heard.

“W- what does this mean!? This masked man calling himself Zero. No we can’t be sure who he is. But in any case, he claims to be the real assassin! So where does this leave the current suspect Pvt. Kagan?” The news man could be heard.

“Awe crap there’s no way out of this!” Otto could be heard over my earpiece radio.

“We are so, so screwed!” Collin said. Her tone could easily reveal she was trembling.

“For a single 11, you’ll save scores of precious Brittanians. I find that to be a bargain.”

“This is all one big performance to him.” The camera man said.

“He’s mad I tell you! Disguising this truck as his highness’ He’ll pay the price for mocking the crown!”

The Knightmares around us raised their guns to us. “Are you sure about this? You wouldn’t want the public to learn of Orange do you?” I tapped my foor twice on the hood of the cab to signal Collin to start driving forward. I could hear the soldiers by Shawn talking.

“Orange? What’s he talking about?” “I don’t know.”

“If I die, it’ll all go public. IF you don’t want that to happen…”

“What are you talking about? What is this?”

I triggered the slide system on my mask to reveal my left eye, where my aeon was. “You’ll do everything in your power to let us go, your prisoner as well!”

“Hmph! Very well understood. You there release the prisoner!”

What!” Collin gasped out.

“What on earth are you doing my lord!?” Violetta yelled from her Knight.

“Get that man over here! Hand him over! Nobody gets in his way! Lord Kewell that is an order!”

“It’s hard to tell what’s happening from here. But it looks like Shawn Kagan has been released!”

The two guards next to Shawn undid his restraints and let him go. He walked over towards the van. I jumped off the hood and walked over to Shawn. Collin followed me, as per plan.

“So who the hell are you–” Shawn was interrupted by the collar on his neck, a restriant to prevent him from talking. “As I thought, they wouldn’t allow you to speak.”

“If they get away now we’ll loose everything!”

“It’s time to go Zero.” Collin told me.

“Well then, till next time.” I reached into my pocket and pulled out a small remote with a red button on it. Pressing down on the button the machine left int the van began to rumble. The machine released the colored smoke, which illustrated as poison gas.

“You cowardly 11’s!” Violetta yelled. She tried shooting at us until Jeremiah intervened

“Lord Jeremiah what are you doing!?”
“You heard me, stand down!”

I grabbed Shawn as we ran to the side of the bridge and jumped. Otto launched a net over a trailer for us to land in as instructed.

“It worked!” Otto yelled before getting shot out of his wanna be Knightmare.

“You fool, there’s no where for you to run!” Kewll said shooting at Otto. Jeremiah drew his gun at Kewll, stopping him.

“Lord Kewll, are you going to follow my orders, or will you defy me! Believe me there will be severe punishment! All units do I make myself clear!? Do everything in your power to let them go!”

The truck drove off under the bridge to the terrorist hideout.

*****Terrorist Hideout*****

“Man I didn’t really think he’d manage to save him. Who is this guy?”

“That’s crap! How many times can a bluff like that work anyhow!?”

“You gotta give the guy some credit though. Nobody else could have pulled that off. Not the American Liberation front, and certainly not me. We always thought that a full on war with Brittania wasn’t a possibility at all…But maybe with him, it is.” Otto said to the other terrorists.

I stood in the auditorium with Shawn, listening to the terrorist’s conversation. “It seems they treated you rather rough. Now you know what they’re like, Pvt. Kagan. Brittania is rotten. If you wish to bring change to this world…then join me!”

“So is it true! Are you really the one who murdered Prince Clovis!?”

“This is war. Why wouldn’t I kill an enemy commander.”

“The gas as well!? Those were civilians out there–”

“A bluff, to help things along. The result: Not a single death.”

“The result!? That’s all that matters to you I suppose.”

“Come, join me. The Brittania you serve is a worthless dominion!”

“Maybe that’s true. But…This nation can be changed for the better! From within! Any ends gained through contemptible means aren’t worth anything.”

Shawn began to walk to the exit on the stage. “Wait! Where are you going!?”

“My court martial begins in an hour.”

“A- are you mad!? The only reason they’re giving you a court martial is to find you guilty! The judge, the prosecution, and the defense!”

“Rules are rules. If I don’t go…They’ll start cracking down on 11’s and Honorary Brittanians.”

“But you’ll die!”

“I don’t mind.”

“Don’t be an idiot!”

“An old friend of mine always used to tell me that. He’d say I was a fool. I guess it’s my personal fault. I’d try to bring you in…But you’d just end up killing me. So if I’m going to die, it’ll be in the service of the people. Even so…I thank you. For saving me.”

I watched with dis-test as Shawn walked off to the exit. Not looking back. “You…Fool!”

*****Irrione Living Quarters*****

Anna Lee sat in the dark listening to the TV.

“It seems Pvt. Kagan has made contact with the authorities. It seems Zero has released him from his custody. However now there is the matter of the original charges pinned on him have been pulled into question. It’s very possible that Shawn Kagan will be found innocent and acquitted.”

“Thank goodness…”

The door opened up behind her, creaking shut again.

“Ms. Cynthia?”

In actuality it was the girl with the green hair.

Luca Of The Rebelion. Chapter 3: The False Classmate

Turn 3: The False Classmate

The dust and smoke from the battlefield was settling. Prince Clovis had ordered it all to stop.

*****Radio channel****

“Why the hell are we letting the 11’s go? What about the poison gas they stole!” Jeremiah asked demanding answers.

“But, we were ordered by Prince Clovis.”

“What about Bartley. I want to ask the general staff about this.”

“They’re not at their posts!”

“Are you telling me Prince Clovis is alone in Conduit Floor!?”
******Military Base******

I stood and walked over to him, my gun aimed at his head.

“I…I’m over joyed Luca! They said you died during the capture of America. What good news that you’re alive! Why don’t you come back to the homeland with me?”
“You intend to use me as a tool of diplomacy again? It seems you’ve forgotten why we were used as tools in the first place.” His eyes opened wide when he remembered. “Right. Because my mother was killed. Mother held the title of Knight Of Honor. But she was originally a commoner No doubt the other empresses held her in contempt. Even so. Even though you made it look like the work of terrorists…You people killed my mother!”

“It wasn’t me! I swear, it wasn’t!”

Then tell me everything you know. No one can lie to me now! By whose hand was she slain?” My Aeon took hold of him and made him give me my answer.

“Schneizel, the second prince, and Cornelia, the second princess. They know.”

“They’re the ringleaders? That’s all that you know isn’t it, huh?” I released him from my Aeon. He shook his head and returned to stuttering for his life.

“It…It wasn’t me, I swear! I didn’t kill her! I didn’t have her killed!”

I lowered my gun briefly to answer him. “ I believe you. However…” I raised my gun and aimed it at his forehead.

“No, don’t! We may have different mothers, but I am still your brother!”

“You can’t change the world without getting your hands dirty.” I pulled my finger back on the trigger.

*****Ashford Academy*****

“Wake up Luca!”

Milly went back to hitting me over the head with a rolled handful of flyers.

“I know you were sleeping your hand stopped moving!”

“Well you don’t have to beat me up over it!”

“Well it serves you right for ditching me like that!” Rivalz said at the other side of the table.

“Yeah that’s right what were you up to yesterday?” Sherry asked me.

“Uh…oh nothing.” I answered her getting back to work.

“All right, all right, all right! I won’t allow you to change the subject! If we don’t review the club activity budget now, there won’t be a budget for anything, will there?” Milly said unrolling the flyers.

“And if it comes to that point…” Nina said looking up from her computer.

“The Equestrian Club will be pissed off at us. They’ll come busting in here like last time” Rivalz said leaning back in his chair, nearly falling out.

“Rivalz can’t you be a more serious student council member?” Milly asked giving him her evil glare.

“You know you should have reminded us about the deadline days ago!” Sherry stated

“I’d say a day later, then we could have given up.” Rivalz said climbing off the ground back into his chair.

“Good idea, we can still do that!” I said pointing my pen at him.

“GUTS!” Milly shouted at the top of her lungs. We all cringed at how impressively loud she was.

“Are you trying that guts spell again?” Rivalz said uncovering his ears.

“Yup! Don’t you want to work harder now?” Milly said pointing her finger at everyone while she leaned over the table.

“I really don;t think your fake magic is going to do a whole lot.” I told her.

I’ll pretend it worked on me, prez!” Sherry said raising her hand.

“Subtle and willing that’s what I like!” Milly said cheering. The only thing that she was missing was a pair of pom poms and a cheerleader outfit.

“I trained hard in the gymnastics club!” Sherry said flexing her arm muscles.

“That’s not what I was getting at. You’re a 10. from what I’ve seen in the girl’s locker room anyways. You’ve been filling out in all the right places huh?” Milly said making Sherry incredibly uncomfortable.

******2 hours later*****

“Jeez, the prez is just a dirty old man on the inside! Sullying the meeting with her filthy mind!” Sherry said cringing at Milly’s behavior

“Yeah, well…that’s Milly for you.” Nina said nervous as ever.

“hehehe, well look at the bright side. We got the budget balanced didn’t we.” Rivalz said as he walked into the classroom.

“The terrorists used poison gas?!” I was just outside the door when I heard the conversation from within.

“Man that’s scary, Bismark is only thirty minutes from here.” “Omg I saw smoke rising over in Bismark! It must have been the gas!”

I walked in only to have Sherry questioning me about yesterday. “I heard about it from a friend IRL. That’s why I called you about it. This is strange….why would they hide the news about it?” I felt a sudden turn in my stomach and ran off to the boys bathroom. Rinsing off my face from the unpleasant shock. “Are they hiding Clovis’ death to prevent chaos? But if they do that, when they announce it…I guess I’m a lot more sensitive than I thought I was.”

****Nobles limousine****

“That Ex-Bureaucrat’s response is tepid at best.” Jeremiah said to Violetta.

“Are you referring to Gen. Bartley?”

“The murderer has breached high security areas twice. Such a perfunctory inspection won’t find him.”

“Margrave Jeremiah, now that prince Clovis, is dead. We pure-bloods can…”

“Let me make that call. We still need to woo everyone onto our side.”

*****Ashford Academy*****

I walked back to class from the bathroom in time to hear a girl screaming someones name.

“Collin! It’s been ages! Are you OK? Sophie’s been worried sick about you!”

“I’m fine now. I just have to go easy for awhile.”

I looked at a desk to see a girl with red hair. She looked familiar until it hit me. She was the woman who was piloting the Glasko. “Of course. I thought she looked familiar.”

“Anyways if I stay home any longer I’ll never catch up.”

I sat down in my desk staring at her, when Rivalz walked behind me.

“What’s up buddy? See something you like? You’ve got a thing for her don’t ya!” He whispered into my ear.

“Just thinking this is a rare event. She hasn’t been here since the semester started.” My day went by as normal as it could. First P.E. Then to English class. Collin was in both of these classes but she just sat on the sidelines.

“Collin Stadtfeld. They say she’s sick or something. She barely even showed up at school last year either. Even so her grades are top of the class. She’s also a member of the Stadtfeld family, so she’s super loaded and rolling in money. Man you sure know how to pick em’.”

That was Rivalz description of her.

An hour had passed before the lunch bell rang. Collin went out to the courtyard and sat with two other girls. Moments later the girls started screaming.

“OMG Collin run there’s a bee after you.”

She just casually ran to the corridor not a care in the world. She hid behind a bush and I could hear what she was saying.

“I don’t get it why is a bee after me. Maybe there’s a hive nearby.”

She raised her hand and quickly swat at the bee. The insect fell to the ground and…fell into pieces. The girl had sliced the bee into pieces just by swatting at it. She stood up and held her sandwich in her hand.

“God, I hate this! I hate having to act like I’m some invalid!”

I walked up to her as she took a bit out her sandwich.

“C-can I help you with something.” She swallowed her sandwich and stood up.

There’s no question. It’s her. I want you to answer all of my questions.”

“Of course!”

“Were you the one piloting the Glasko in Bismark?”

“Why terrorism?”

“Because I’m American. Though technically I’m half Brittanian.”

“A half-blood! But why go so far?” The bell tower rang and I wasn’t able to hear her answer. The power released her and she just stared at me.

“Um…Did you want something?”

“No, I got what I needed here.” I started to walk off to get to class before stopping on my heel. “Oh, wait. Just to be sure. Don’t tell anyone about Bismark.”

“Hmm. What do you mean about Bismark? Why would you say that?”

Go back to class.”

“As soon as I get an answer to my question I will!”

It’s not working?! What’s going on here?” I slowly started walking backwards towards the door.

“Hey, Lulu, Collin!”

I looked up behind me to see Sherry waving at us from a window two stories up.

“You know it’s time to head over to the chem lab. You better hurry you don’t wanna be late!”

“Ah, crap it’s my turn to set up for class!” I ran towards the door leaving Collin there. “It didn’t work? But…”

*****Irrione Living Quarters*****

Classes had ended for the day and already the sun was starting to go down. I headed home to the living area the Ashford family was letting us live in. The electric door slid open, and I saw my little sister Anna Lee, along with Miss Cynthia The Japanese woman who had volunteered to look after and help my sister with her disabilities. Seven years ago, Anna Lee witnessed our mothers murder. She was only 5 years old so it traumatized her. She had been blinded and crippled, the doctors said that she would be in the wheelchair for the rest of her life. The chances of her seeing again were one in a million. The event had left frail and tiny, she had long blonde hair that would stretch down to her waist. Cynthia always made sure that it was well taken care of though.“Sorry I’m so late…” There were little paper action figures on the table that they were sitting at.

“Hi Luca, welcome home!”

“Welcome home my lord.”

“Hmm, no place like it Cynthia. Right Anna Lee?”

*****Research Department*****

“As you already know, the project was a complete failure. Consequently, I am disbanding this research center. I have set up a place for you in Carolina. Move everything out there.” Gen. Bartley said to his team.

“While we may have no memory of it. The fact is that the other staff officers and I left Prince Clovis alone and on his own. I’ll be very likely recalled back to the homeland to take responsibility for this. If his majesty learns that this experiment has gone on without his knowledge about it…he’ll–”

“Understood sir! We’ll make preparations to leave immediately!” One of the scientists said, knocking over an album of pictures. Pictures of the girl with the green hair.

*****Irrione Living Quarters*****

I took Anna Lee’s steak and started cutting it up into small enough pieces for her to eat. This was our regular routine. During dinner every night, she and I would telleach other about our day and how it had been.

“Today Miss Cynthia was teaching me about the art of Origami. Fold a piece of paper the correct way and you can make just about anything. Birds, Bugs, almost anything.”

She took a sip of her chicken soup and stopped when some leaked down her chin. Taking a napkin from the table I wiped her chin for her. “Easy now, you don’t have to tell me everything at once. It’s not like I’m going anywhere.”

“You’re right. Thank you Luca.”

I smiled, although she wouldn’t be able to tell. “You’re very welcome.”

“I’m so happy! Because last night you sort of scared me.”

“Did I? I’m sorry, I just have a lot on my mind is all.”

“Hey! They say if you fold a thousand of these your wish will come true.”

She picked up a small paper crane that had been made with pink paper.

“So if there’s anything you wish for…”

“Oh no. Not me. What about you, do you wish for anything?”

“Hmm. I wish the world was a gentler place.”

“When the day comes that you can see again. I’m sure it will be.”

“I promise! The truth is…There are very few places of which our future can take. The Ashford family is sheltering us for now, but how long can that last? If our identity is exposed, even Rivalz, Sherry, and the others will abandon us. We’ll end up political tools, or a casualty of royal ambition. I have to build a world where Anna Lee can at least find happiness…” Anna Lee took my hand and raised it, wrapping her pinky around mine.

“Cynthia taught me this the other day. It’s called a Japanese promise. ‘Cross my heart, hope to die, eat a thousand needles if I lie. Pinky promise, swear’!”

She let go of my hand and laughed. “Well now I’m scarred. I may have to eat a thousand needles someday.”

“That’s right! So I better not catch you telling lies OK.”

“It’s alright. I’ll never lie, I swear. Not to you anyways…”

*****Ashford Academy*****

I stood at the bridge that connected our living quarters to the school grounds. I looked down at the water that passed underneath the bridge. In the reflection I could see my power within my left eye. My right eye remained it’s typical violet color. “This is the only weapon I have. And I don’t even know how to use it.”

I looked up too see my Social Studies teacher crossing the bridge. Our house is also next door to the teachers lounge.

“Class will be starting any minute you know. Better hurry up.”

“Oh, yes sir. Sir, could you tell me what the topics are going to be on your next exam.”

“The embarrassment of Odinburgh. The transfer of the capitol to the new world. Also the ending cause of the North-South war.”

So, I haven’t lost the power then.”

Sir, could you tell me what the topics are going to be on your next exam.”

“Right very funny. Maybe if you tried studying you’d do better. Now hurry up to class.”

“Yes sir! As I suspected I can only use it on a person once.”

****Ashford Rooftop*****

So, how’s campus life treating you.” Otto said over the phone.

“Stifling. I was stuck in history class yesterday. Look maybe I should just head back over there.” Collin stated.

The army’s on a high alert right now. Stay there, let things cool off.”

“I don’t know. What about the voice we heard on the radio?” ]

We can’t go looking for a voice. Besides….Josh would be happy to see you back in school. Forget about Bismark for now. I’ll be in touch.” Otto hung up the phone on his end.

Collin simply slouched over the railing on the rooftop.

“Bismark. I understand but…!”

Don’t tell anyone about Bismark.”

Collin remembered the conversation she had with that student yesterday.

“No….It couldn’t have been his voice.”

*****Social Studies classroom*****

Collin spent every class period that she had with Luca, trying to remember the voice that she heard on the radio. “It could be…No, I can’t remember well enough to be sure.

I sat down after giving my statement to my Social Studies teacher. Looking over at Collin could see that I was in the reflection of her mirror.

Luca: “All I did was simply mention Bismark. However…”

Collin: “ If he knows who I really am…”

Luca: “Then at the first opportunity…”

Collin: “I need to take him out of commission.”

The rest of the class period went on like any other day would. When the bell finally did ring, however…

“Hey Lulu, a bunch of us are going out for coffee’s. Wanna come along?”

Sherry came behind me and asked me. They had also asked Collin to go but she turned them down. “Sorry, maybe some other time.” I walked over to Collin’s seat where a bunch of other girls were as well. “You think you could spare a minute Collin. I need to talk to you.”

“Sure. I was wondering when you were gonna ask.”

All the girls squealed in jealousy. Every girl in this school aside from Milly and Nina, were always flirting with me. It must have been the fact that I asked Collin, that got them so wired.

*****Council Clubhouse*****

Collin and I walked to the ballroom. A place we could talk in private.

“I didn’t even know this room existed.”

Collin stared up at the crystal chandelier. “It’s the clubhouse for the student council. They built it as a ballroom for various special occasions.”

“And we won’t be disturbed inside here?”

“Yes, exactly.”

“I found it!”

Collin and I both looked up at the balcony to see Sherry standing up. She held something in between her fingers, whatever it was was too small and far away for me to spot.

“This is it right?”

“What a relief you found our lab data.” Nina walked up to Sherry, taking whatever it was she had.

“Thank god, my ass was killing me.” Rivalz stood up hunched over like an old man.

“Did you find what you were looking for? I finished up on my end!” Milly walked in with a cart full of various dishes.

“Um…Milly what is all this?”

“Hmm….Luca didn’t you know, I thought that was why you brought her. We’re letting Collin into the student council. It was my grandfather’s idea actually.” Milly went to setting the dishes onto the tables. There were salads, soups and many other various dishes.

“The principal?”

“He thought it best with her pour health she would have a harder time with regular club activities. Oh, I’m sorry my names Milly. I’m the president of the council, pleasure to meet you!”

The rest of the council ran down the stairs to greet Collin.

“Oh, thank you the pleasures all mine.”

“Hi, I’m Rivalz the secretary. If there’s anything you need help with, just ask.”

“Hi, I’m Sherry, and I’m a member of the Swim Club welcome!”

“H- hi there, my name’s Nina.”

Everyone insisted on shaking Collin’s hand.

“Sherry, I’m sorry but do you think you could set these on the table for me?”

Anna Lee came through the doors, carrying boxes of pizza from Pizza Hut and also a plate of cupcakes.

“Oh, sure! Thanks Anna!”

“Anna Lee what are you doing here?” Milly took off her apron before walking behind Anna Lee’s wheelchair.

“This is Luca’s little sister.”

“I’m still in the middle school, so I can’t be a member of the council yet.”

“That’s alright you’re an honorary member in our book!” Rivalz said reaching underneath the cart for something.

“Hello there, it’s a pleasure to meet you Collin.”

Collin couldn’t stop from smiling at her. “Thank you, the pleasures mine.”

“Right then! Shall we kick this off with a toast!” Rivalz produced a bottle of Champagne from underneath the cart.

“B- but, we’re on the student council and we’re not allowed to drink.” Nina said backing away slowly.

“NO WAY WE’RE GONNA GET IN TROUBLE!” Sherry nearly tackled Rivalz to get the bottle away from him.

“What’s going on?” Anna Lee asked.

“Here Anna Lee you have this.”

Milly gave her a small cup of Orange soda.

“Luca, catch!”

Rivalz tossed me the bottle not giving me a second to react. I caught the bottle in my right hand, seconds before Sherry jumped over Rivalz.

Sherry tackled me forcing me to fall onto the ground. From all the excitement, the bottle had gotten very shook up. The cork on the bottle blew, flying towards Collin. She had hairline reflexes, swatting the cork away. However…she wasn’t able to make the Champagne go the same direction. The contents of the bottle sprayed all over her like a fountain. Soaked in the liquid already, Collin just stood there. Everyone stared at her, her ruby hair now even darker.

*****Half an hour later*****

“Do we have a change of clothes for her?” Milly asked placing Collin’s soaked clothes into the washing machine.

“Cynthia is getting her some.” Sherry answered her, sitting on the stool.

The water poured down from the shower. Steam had already fogged up the mirror.

“This is why I hate Brittanians. For crying out loud…”

Knock Knock

I knocked on the bathroom door. “It’s Luca. I brought you a change of clothes.”

“You can come in, I’ve drawn the curtain already.”

I walked in to see her shadowy figure, covered by the shower curtain. “Sorry about this, I know they can be a little…Lively, sometimes.”

“That’s OK. Nothing wrong with cutting loose every once in a while, you know.”

“These are some of my clothes. Hope that’s OK.” I set the clothes in the basket next to the Toilet.

“Don’t worry about it. It’s fine. That was fast, you went all the way to the boys dorm and back?”

“Actually, I live here. It would be pretty hard for my sister to live in the dorms. The principal of the school let’s us stay here as a favor.” I started walking towards the door to leave her in privacy. “Anyways–”

“Hey, wait!”

I turned back stopping.

“Can you hand me that pouch over there.”

She reached her arm pat the curtain to point at the sink. There was a little pink bag sitting on the sink board. “Sure.” I picked up the pouch and walked over towards the shower. Turning away, I reached my arm past the curtain holding the pouch out to her. She grabbed my wrist and made me drop the pouch into the water. “You really are a live wire aren’t you.”

“Were you the one in Bismark?”

“What do you mean?”

“Don’t play dumb! You brought up Bismark the other day! Why?”

“Why do yo ask, is there something wrong with Bismark?”

“Don’t answer my question, with a question! Yes or no. That’s all I wanna hear out of you.”

She picked up her pouch and revealed a hidden knife was concealed within.

Ring Ring

The telephone rang. I slowly reached over for it. Her grip on my wrist tightening. “If I don’t answer it, someone will come. All right?” I picked up the phone and brought it up to my face. “Hello, Ashford Academy Student Council. No…I’m, oh. It’s for you. He says he knows you.” I handed her the receiver and saw her put the knife down. She took the phone from my hand. All part of the plan.

*****Phone Conversation*****

Collin: “Hello.”

Mysterious voice: “Glad you’re still alive Q-1.”

Collin: “Was I wrong?”

Mysterious Voice: “16:00 hours, the day after tomorrow. The observation deck at the fake Eiffel Tower. Come alone.

Collin: “Who are you!? How did you arrange that cease-fire order!? Hey don’t hang up!”

“Did you say cease-fire? Sounds like you keep dangerous company. Lemme guess. You’re talking about a game. Something online?” I told her looking away. She had pulled on the phone cord which had forced the curtain away, revealing her.

“Uhh….Yeah, you got me. Because, you know….I’ve been shut up in my house for so long.”

“That’s what I was warning you about. When I said not to bring up Bismark.” She let go of my wrist and handed back the phone. Hanging it up, I rubbed my wrist from her tight grip. “Seriously, some guys will try to show you footage of what happened and it’s pretty damn grim. By the way, you know I can see you right?” She gasped then looked down. She bent down and pulled the curtain back. “Umm…I won’t tell anyone, later.” I walked out of the bathroom and to my bedroom. Cynthia was waiting for me holding a voice recorder. I took it from her and pushed the playback button to hear what it said. ‘glad you’re still alive, Q-1.’. Cynthia was under my Aeon control and she called and played the track just like I had planned.

I joined up with Collin outside of the bathroom after her shower. We walked back to the ballroom together. Milly had put me in charge of telling her the ropes of being on the council. “The student council doesn’t require much work. Beyond the occasional paperwork we sometimes plan school events.”

“So, you mean events like the culture festival?”

“Exactly, along with the Cross-dressers ball, the Absolute Silence party, and swimsuit day.”

“What’s up with that?”

“Blame our president. You’ll be spending a lot of time with her. Hope you’re ready.” We arrived at the entrance to the ballroom. Everyone was waiting for us.

“Luca, it’s awful!”

I heard Anna Lee cry. “What is!”

“Prince Clovis has been found dead.” Milly informed me.

“They’re saying he was killed.” Rivalz enlightened.

We walked over to the TV and saw a member of the royal guard speaking to the press.

“Prince Clovis has been taken from us. He fought for peace and justice, against all of the 11’s. He died a martyr. We must all push down our sorrow and carry on his will.”

“We interrupt this broadcast with breaking news. The man suspected as the murderer has been captured. According to this report the murderer is an Honorary Brittanian.”

What the…”

“Private Shawn Kagan! A former 11 and Honorary Brittanian. I repeat, Shawn Kagan, has been arrested for murder.

Luca of the rebelion. Turn 2: The White Knight Awakens

Turn 2: The white knight awakens

I sat on my feet as I bent down to look at the girl who had just given me this new power. “I don’t understand, what it is that you wanted me to do. Why did you give me this bizarre power?” I stood back up and looked over the dead bodies of those who I had just ordered to kill themselves.

There was a sudden explosion that managed to knock me off my feet. A Sutherland Knightmare rolled in from an opening to the subway entrance. The top of the Knightmare opened as it scanned the area. A woman spoke from within the Knightmare.

“What happened here boy, and why is a Britanian student in a place like this? Are you deaf! Answer me or I’ll-”

I was irritated by this woman. She fired the gun that her knightmare had been carrying at the wall behind me. Because of the type of bullets they were they managed to send my raven black hair flying all over.

“Answer me!”

I looked at the woman’s knightmare scanner and stared into it. “I order you come out, at once!”

“Who the hell do you think you are to order me!”

The command I gave her didn’t work. She didn’t climb out of her Knightmare. “I see. So it only works with direct eye contact.” I turned to face her Knightmare and put my hands up to show I meant no harm to her, not yet anyways. “My name is Alan Spacer, my fathers a Duke.” I told her stealing the name of the nobleman whom I defeated in chess an hour ago. “My ID card is in my breast pocket. After you confirm who I am I’ll request your protection.” A noise could be heard coming from her Knight as it opened up its back hatch. I smiled at how she so blindly followed along with my script. She glided down a cable and stepped onto the torn up concrete floor. She had what looked like silver hair that was tied up into a ponytail by a violet colored string.

“Keep your hands up in the air. I’ll take out your ID card.”

She pulled out her pistol and started to walk over to me. “Now then, hand your Knightmare over to me.” I stared into her green eyes as I gave her my command. She grabbed the slide of her gun in her left hand as she pulled out the USB key to her Knight.

“Understood. The code number is XG21G2D4.”

She whirled around the key by the keyring before tossing it to me. Catching it in my hand I memorized the code. “Got it.” I walked past her and took her gun before climbing into her Knight.

****5 minutes later, Subway exit*****

The woman looked around to see that her Knightmare, and the boy she had just talked to were no where to be found.

“What in the hell…”

She said shcoked at the turn of events.

****Medical Trailer****

“So are we having a bad day!?”

Lloyd said almost giddy when Shawn awoke. He opened his eyes to see he wasn’t dead. Looking around he saw Lloyd and Cecile looking over him.

“Looks like you missed a chance to go to heaven Private Kagan.” Lloyd said looking at Shawn’s bandaged side.

“I did? But where-”

Shawn winced while he tried to sit up.

“Hmm, oh were still in the Bismark ghetto.”

”With Prince Clovis nearby this is probably the safest place anywhere. This is what saved your life Mr. Shawn.” Cecile said as she handed him a silver pocket watch with the glass and the hands broken.

“Your lucky it was under your protective suit cuz that’s what deflected the bullet.”

“Is it a keepsake?”

Shawn grabbed the watch and stared at it. “Yes, very.”

“you 11’s believe that gods exist inside everything don’t you.” Lloyd said in reference to Shawns watch.

“Is Luca-” Shawn started to say but quickly paused. “What’s the latest on the situation?”

“It looks like the poison gas was unleashed massive 11 casualties have been reported.”

“They haven’t caught the perpetrators yet though.”

Lloyd and Cecile took turns explaining things to Shawn, at least what they knew about the situation.

“They haven’t, not yet huh?”

“Private Kagan, how much experience do you have in piloting a Knightmare frame?”

Shawn sat there in awe as he was asked that question. “B-but there’s no way an 11 would be made a Knight!”

“Well supposing you could.” Lloyd handed Shawn a USB key to a knightmare. Shawn stood up from his bed and walked out with Lloyd and Cecile. They walked and showed him to a trailer that was carrying a Knightmare with a black tarp covering it.

“Congratulations the only Knightmare of it’s kind awaits you. Once you take the controls of this big beauty everything will change. You and your world.”

“Whether you want them to or not.”

****Bismark Ghetto, Street****

The Britanian military had continued with their order of killing all of the 11’s that had been living in the Bismark Ghetto. The Glasko shot up from underground and attacked a tank that was shooting at fleeing civilians.

“Those damn Britanians!”

Collin yelled, her voice scratchy from crying over the death of her brother Josh. Tears were still in her eyes.

“Collin, can the Glasko still move?” Otto had yelled over the intercom.

“Don’t worry Otto, it’s alright I’ll decoy them get the people out of here. The only ones that’ll be captured are those of us in the resistance!”

“I know but were trapped they’ve got us completely surrounded!”

****Ashford Girls Locker room****

Laughter from the reality show that the girls from the swim team were watching on their Tablet was echoing throughout the locker rooms. One of them opening a bag of chips.

“That’s because you don’t have enough leg strength.”

Their conversation carried on when Sherry’s phone rang in her locker. She grabbed her Blue tooth and put it on her ear before hitting the answer button, accepting the call from Luca.

“Lulu, what in the world have you been doing, where are you now? If you keep cutting class you’ll get held back.”

“Are you near a TV?”

“A TV?”

“Sorry but this is important.”

“Hmph, hang on.” Sherry walked away from her locker to the table where the girls were sitting. “Hey can I change the channel.”

“Huh, to what?” one of the girls asked.

“The news! Is there anything about Bismarkl” Luca said as he typed on the keyboard inside of the Knightmare.

“News, lets see…theres nothing on. Traffic restrictions.

“Why is it restricted?”

“I don’t know they’re not saying.”

****Luca’s knight****

I get it. Once they finish everything off they’ll release news that favors the military.”

“Ooooh, you’re gambling again aren’t you. I’ve warned you before about how dangerous that is.”

“Yep, you caught me. By the way tell my little sister I’ll be home late tonight. Thanks, bye.” I hung up on her pressing the end button my Bluetooth. On the monitor I saw what looked like a chessboard with all the pieces with it. I opened the hatch and climbed out to go and grab the chess set. Picking it up and all of the pieces I climbed back into my Knightmare and turned on the map. It showed me all of the positions of the soldiers, “They need to keep a lid on the information so it’ll be hard for them to call in reinforcements. They’ll have to make do with the pieces they have on the board. But I’m pinned in here and it’ll be tough to break through by myself. Gaining refuge carries it’s own risk to.” Up above I could see a helicopter being taken down by what appeared to be the Glaskos Slash Harken. “I want pay back for being dragged into your fight.”

****Bismark, hot zone****

Collin kept destroying the military’s weaponry to get revenge. Two Sutherland’s drove up behind her and over the speakers could be heard the voice of Jeremiah.

“Well, well if it isn’t our Glasko friend.”

Collin sped away avoiding the shots that they fired at her

****Luca’s point of view****

Seeing the woman speed away in the Glasko I reached into my breast pocket and pulled out the communicator that I had found in the trucks trailer.

****Glasko Cockpit****

Collin drove away looking at the timer that was displayed on her monitors. She had only 30 minutes left before her Knightmare would shut down.

“The west entrance. Use the train tracks to get to the west entrance.” Luca said over the channel.

“Who is this?! How do you know this code!”

“That doesn’t matter. If you want to win you’re going to have to trust me.”

“To win?”

Collin drove over to the tracks and jumped onto them following them towards the west entrance like the voice told her.

“Okay, what am I supposed to do now, huh?”

She asked as the two Sutherlands were chasing her.

“You pathetic 11. If you run away then this hunt doesn’t have much to offer in the way of sport.”

Further ahead on the tracks a freight train could be heard, coming closer.

“Since you trusted me you’re going to win. Jump onto the train!”

Collin did as she was told and hopped onto the train cars hopping away. The train was brought to a stop when a Sutherland grabbed it.

“You think you can get away that way hmm. If that’s your plan then…you go after the Glasko.”

“Yes my lord.”

The Sutherland behind him jumped over Jeremiah’s Sutherland only to be shot down. Jeremiah turned to see that another Sutherland had been hiding inside of a destroyed building. “Shot by friendly fire? You there! What’s your name and your unit?!”

Little did he know that it was Luca’s Knightmare. Luca shot at Jeremiah’s Knight forcing him to retreat.

“Oh my god, a terrrorist!”

Jeremiah tried to flee but his Knight’s legs had been shot preventing him having the chance to escape. “You son of a…” Jeremiah tried to shoot at Luca but was stopped when the Glasko charged at him.

Jeremiah was forced to flee using his ejector seat. He was launched out of his Sutherland abandoning it . “You saved me. But how did you get a hold of a Sutherland?”

Collin asked over the radio turning only to see that Luca’s Knight was no longer in the building.

“Collin! What the hell was that radio message earlier?”

Otto ran up the tracks along with a few other men.

“What! He contacted you too?”

“Sure did, and Yoshi’s group should be here soon as well-”

He was cut off when his radio started to pick up a signal.

“Are you in charge?” Luca asked him over the radio.

“Uh, yeah.”

“Then I present to you the cargo in that train over there. They’re tools for your victory. If you want to use them to win, then follow my orders.”

Collin drover her Knight over to the doors of the cars before using the Glasko to open them. Inside were Sutherland Knightmare frames.

“There’s more in here! Here too!”

Collin yelled over the radio as she continued opening all of the train cars. Everyone of them had been filled with at least two Sutherland’s.

“Amazing! Maybe we should give this guy a chance.”

All of this. But how?” Collin asked herself after she opened all of the train cars.

“Woman in the Glasko!” Luca announced over the radio.

“Stay where you are. Your unit’s gonna run decoy, understood?”

“Energy filler status?”

“About fifteen minutes worth.”

“Then recharge it. In ten minutes I’ll contact you with your next assignment.”

****Luca’s Knightmare*****

Moving out of view of the terrorists I hid inside another one of the many destroyed buildings. Setting my communicator down I leaned back into the seat of my Knightmare. “This is wearing me out. Regardless, I’ll need determination to succeed. After all, I’m betting my life in this game.” Twirling the black king piece in my hand I set it back down on the chessboard which was resting on the Knightmare’s dashboard.

****Military mobile base****

“The terrorists are mixed among the 11 populace. Mounting little resistance against us. But they pose little threat to our vastly resilient army.”
General Bartley reported, leaning over the electronic map.

“We know that. Moving on.”

Clovis instructed.

“Understood your highness. The gas capsules will be-”

“What the public thinks?”

“Yes, we’ll keep searching for her.”

“Either way, I want her back here dead or alive.

*****Terrorist group*****

“Hey are you certain about this? They’ve all had the ITD’s (Internal Tracking Device) removed what if this is a trap?”

One of the terrorists outside of his Knightmare questioned Otto.

“The other side has total advantage in this war. They don’t need to set any traps. Alright people let’s move get to your assigned points!”

“B1, can you move? It operates the same as you’re used to.” Luca said over the radio.

“Can’t you tell us who you are? At least your name something?”

“I can’t do that. What if these signals are being intercepted? Anyway if Q1 (Collin) is on schedule, enemy Sutherland’s, probably two of them will reach you in twenty-three seconds. Shoot them through the wall.”

“Aaah he’s out of his mind!”

Otto lowered his radio thinking before announcing his order to everyone. “Everyone, double check your weapons.”

“What are you serious?”

Q1 arrived at her designated rendezvous on schedule before stopping.

****Military base****

“Enemy spotted at point M31!”

“A feint eh’? How pedestrian.” Prince Clovis said to himself.

“Tell Lazlo squad to go straight in! Have Yugen and Valyrie strike from the rear!”

****Terrorist group*****

“3….2…….1. Fire!” Otto gave the order as him and his fellow Knightmare pilots fired a barage of bullets at the wall. Destroying the enemy units on the other side.

****Military base*****

“Sir Yugen and Sir Valyrie both lost!” Bartley barked as he stared at the overhead map on the screen.

“Hmm, an ambush?” Clovis asked his soldiers.

****Luca’s Knight****

Heh, an ID signal can be a double edge sword. Besides, if the terrorists follow the orders I issue. My task at hand is sure to be completed.” I said to myself holding my knight in my hand. “P1, P4, P7, move one-hundred meters to the right and fire your Slash Harkens towards three o’ clock!” I issued my next play to the terrorists. Over the radio I could hear Otto issuing my orders.

“You heard him! Do as the boy says!”

“B5 are you ready?”

“Ugh, quit calling me that!”

The terrorists moved the designated points before attacking two enemy Knightmares destroying them.

****Military base*****

“The enemy is moving towards G28!”

“Send Lazlo squad! I mean Combat Squad!” Bartley was sweating buckets at the sudden turn in the terrorists attacks.

“This means…Terrorists have our military weaponry!?” Clovis shouted from his throne.

“Sir Bradley has ejected!”

“Change our codes dammit they’re intercepting them!”

“We already have sir, four times!”

“Do it again!”

“This failure is unacceptable!” Clovis shouted standing up from his throne.

“Good afternoon!” Lloyd said as his face popped up over the screen.

“What is it? We’re in the middle of an operation!”

“I’d say it’s time to deploy the A.S.E.E.C.’s special weapon!”

“We’ve no time for this right now!” Clovis said walking over the table.

****Luca’s knight****

“R2, fire anchor!” I instructed pushing my rook forward. “B7, use U-N ordinance!” Placing my bishop three spaces ahead of it’s previous location. “N-Group continue moving forward…”

****Military base****

“We just lost both Lazlo and Foxtrot squads!” Bartley yelled in panic.

“So do it, we’ll have to bring up Quincy’s Squadron!” Clovis ordered slamming his fist on the table

“But, my lord that will break the encirclement!”

*****Luca’s Knight****

“Now then the enemy has only five options. Their move.” I waited twirling around my king.

*****Military base****

“Reinforce the breach with some of the units guarding me. All we know for certain are that the enemy forces are here!” Clovis said pointing at a small section on the map.

*****Luca’s Knight****

“Well that’s a more stupider move than I was expecting. Q1 do you have an area map?” I asked her while she was underground.

“Yes, I have a map of the old town. But without any current landmarks.”

“It’ll do fine.”

*****Military Base*****

“Alright, send in Bravo and the others as well!” Clovis ordered pointing at that spot.

*****Luca’s Knight*****

Luca: “Mission Number three now.

Clovis: “Concentrate our forces there! Surround them!”

Luca: “Is everything prepared?”

Clovis: “ The enemy’s main force is that center dot. Finish everyone of them off!”

Clovis had almost everyone of his remaining units at a single spot only to find there was nothing.

Clovis: “What, wheres the enemy!?”

I had all of my units moving along the underground subway tunnels. Q1 at the back of the group, she stopped and fired her Slash Harken at the roof. “With this….I call check.” Setting my king next to the white one. The ground caved in taking in all of the enemy units inside destroying them. Over the map there were multiple signs of Knightmares losing their signals, reporting ‘Lost’ over the screen. I laughed maniacally at my victory. “Hahaha, My plan worked didn’t it. I can do it. I can. I can defeat Britanaia!”

****Military Base****

Clovis took several steps back, shocked at his defeat. He was not far from terrified. “Who in the hell am I fighting? What if…He’s even better than Commander Thomas! Lloyd!”

“Yes your highness?”

“Can it win? Can your toy beat them?”

“My lord….Please be so kind as to call it Lancelot.”

*****ASEEC’s Trailer*****

“Advanced Unit Weapon Z-01 Lancelot, now activating. Lancelot activating. Releasing hatch. Z-01 Lancelot stand by for activation. Pallet extension initiating.” Cecile said over the PA system.

“Did you read the manual?” She asked Shawn over the communicator.

“More or less.” Shawn answered her zipping up his combat suit.

“Well done. You scored at the top of the class in the simulator.”

“Ms. Cecile, about what you told me earlier…about a survivor in the subway system.”

“Huh? Oh, it’s possible but the possibility is close to zero.”

“But not actually zero, right?”

“I’m afraid that’s true. Still I don’t want you doing anything reckless. The new system doesn’t have an escape mechanism installed.”

“Right, I understand Ms. Cecile.” Shawn walked over to the trailer from the medical truck, his gun shot wound still stinging in his side. The tarp covering the Knight was released revealing the new Knightmare, Lancelot. “I-is that it?”

“Yes. The experimental weapon developed by us in the Advanced Special Envoy Engineering Corps. Code name: Lancelot. The world’s first 7th generation Knightmare Frame.”

The Lancelot was a white base colored Knightmare with golden colored trim. Shawn’s suit was based off of the Knight’s design. The shoulders were pointed at an angle and the general design was different from that of the common Sutherland.

“All right then Shawn, if you’re ready shall we proceed with the initial start-up?” Lloyd asked him.

“Initial start-up proceeding from Phase 20. Equipping Energy Filler. Confirm Pre-start. Energy Filler now at normal output. Thirty seconds to reach critical voltage. Core luminous, shifting phase. Devicer, set up. Confirming entry of Devicer to Z-01. Individual I.D. Registration, confirmed. Confirm establishment of Man-machine interface. Yggdrasil resonance, confirmed. Rejection response, weak. Devicer stress response, weak. All readings nominal.” Cecile announced reading off the reports from her computer.

“So far it’s going according to the data.”

“Lancelot…Activate M.E. Boost.” Shawn said from within the Lancelot.

The Knightmare’s wheels and support beams were lowered from the leg. Lancelot took it’s launch pose awaiting orders.

Shawn heard the green light and hit the accelerator, running straight out of the gate at full speed.

Lloyd and Cecile were knocked off their feet from the high speeds. Lloyd laughing at the speed. “Hahaha. Running full throttle right out of the gate huh?”

Shawn drove the Lancelot ll the way to the battlefield within minutes. “Cooler than the manual. With this…Ugh.” Shawn lost his train of thought, grabbing his side from the gun wound.

*****Luca’s Knight****

“Heh, one more push and the checkpoint will fall” I said laughing at the screen.

“This is B group. Confirm signs of enemy pressence.”

“Reinforcements? Real battle is different isn’t it? Status?”

“Everyone ejected, but they took out four units in no time at all!”

“Enemy numbers?”

“One! Just one! I think it’s a new model, never seen anything like it–” All that coulod be heard from the radio were screams and silence. Looking over the battlefield I could see the supposed enemy unit that had been destroying the Knightmares. According to the ITD code it was the prototype Lancelot. A barrage of bullets were fired at the Knight only to have them deflected. “What! It deflects bullet’s to?”

“What do we do! Isaiah!–”

Useless so called terrorists. With all the resources they have they’re being beaten by a single unit. N4, N5 hold positions. When the rear units arrive surround that thing.”

I watched as the Knight destroyed the two units both within only ten seconds.

“N units what’s happening. What is this? Something I didn’t foresee.”

*****Military Base****

“For heaven’s sake. Now I’ll owe my older brother a debt I don’t need to incur. It’s for the best though.” Clovis said as he walked back to his throne.

******Luca’s Knight*****

“P-1, report! Can the enemy be really only one unit?” Within moments I could see a Slash Harken being used as a grapling hook as the White Knight appeared in front of me. “You mean…This thing is what ruining my plans!” It attacked my Knight but I managed to defend against it.

“Are you the guy who’s in command?” The pilot questioned. “Just a pilot? How dare he–” I was cut off as the floor collapsed from the weight of two Knight’s on a ruined building. “No choice, I have to get out of here.” The white knight appeared in the sky and zoomed down to attack me. Defending the best I could. I was thrown back from the velocity of the kick. He was about to finish me off when Q1 appeared stopping him.

“Hey, I’m returning the favor!” The woman yelled over the radio. Using the opening she gave me I ran out of the building, leaving her behind. Moments later I could see her ejector seat launching from the building. But by that time I was at least five blocks away from the building. “I have to remember that. The most vital element in battle is the human one.” My alarm blared as it alerted me of the white knight, hot on my trail. I shot at the surrounding buildings causing more rubble to fall, hopping to try and avert him. Driving backwards I could see him turn around before jumping into the air. He was saving someone. A woman with what looked like a child in her hands. “In the heat of battle he rescues someone? Hmph, fin. I’ll concede you the tactical victory here. Nevertheless…” I pulled on the ejection levers as I was launched out of my Knightmare.

****Shawn’s Knight****

He set the mother and child down on the street after catching them. The woman ran off screaming bloody murder.

“Shawn? You must be tired. Why don’t we call it quits for the day?” Cecile asked him.

“N-no I’m fine. Please let me keep going on.”

“Be careful with his operational time!” Lloyd could be heard yelling at Ms. Cecile. “My that boy is an excellent piece of equipment.”

****Clovis’ personal transport, outside*****

I walked towards the base wearing the back-up military suit I had found in the knight after ejecting.

“Stop there! This is Prince clovis’ personal transport. What is your I.D.?” A soldier demanded pointing his rifle at me. I removed my helmet before addressing the man. “At last the check point. Lightly guarded just like I had planned.”

“your plan…”

“That’s right now. I’d like you to let me pass.” I said looking him in the eye.

“Yes sir, understood.”

*****Terrorist hideout*****

Collin was still running from being captured by any Britanian soldiers still wandering around. She passed an old storage warehouse when she heard her name being called.

“Collin, in here!”

Otto was yelling at her. She walked inside and could here people arguing.

“It’s your fault, this is what happens when you oppose the Britanians!”

“What, you spineless coward!”

“How many people were killed because of this?’

“Shut up! Do you know how many of us were captured or killed? DON’T CRY!”

The man was pointing his rifle at everybody trying to make them quiet down through fear.

“Otto, what about the guy we heard?” Collin asked.

“Damned if I know. He doesn’t answer when I call so maybe he’s dead–”

There was a sudden explosion from outside that destroyed the door. Military tanks came rolling inside.

“There you see, instead of following someone we don’t even know we should have used the poison gas! Damn that Josh!”

Soldiers came running from behind the tank armed to the teeth.

“So, this is where you 11 vermin scurried off to. Prepare to fire!”

“Begin fire–” The man was cut off by the voice of prince clovis.

“Attention all forces! Cease fire at once! In the name of Clovis La Brittania third prince and royal viceroy of area 11, you are so ordered. Cease fire at once! You shall also cease destruction of any and all buildings in this area. All casualties, either Britanian or 11 shall be treated without prejudice! In the name of Clovis La Brittania you are so ordered! Cease fire at once! I shall allow no further fighting!”

*****Military Base*****

I cut the power as Clovis finished giving his order.

“There satisfied?”

“Yes, well done.”

“Then what shall we do now. A round of songs? Or perhaps a nice game of chess?”

“That has a familiar ring.” I removed my helmet tossing it aside, still keeping my gun aimed at him. “Don’t you remember” You used to play Chess with me. Of course, I always won.”

“Remember. At Aries Villa.”

“You…Who are you?”

I walked forward into the little bit of sunlight that shined through the sun roof. Revealing my face to him. “It’s been a long time. Big brother.” He nearly jumped out of his seat as he stood up. “The eldest son of the late empress Marie Rose and 17th in line to the throne. Luca Vi Brittania, at your service.” I kneeled down before him.

“L-luca?! But, I thought–”

“That I was dead? You were wrong. I have returned your highness. I have come back to chang everything.” I told him with a deviled smile.

Luca Of The Rebelion. Turn 1: The Day A New Demon Was Born

Turn 1: The day a new demon was born
(2017. 7 years after the war. 2017 A.T.B. North Dakota settlement)

Ever since Britannia took over the 11’s were treated like slaves. I rode the elevator up to the designated area where me and my friend Rivalz, were expected. I was to be the substitute for a chess match for an old colleague of mine. The elevator dinged as the doors slowly slid open. A few feet from the doori could see my colleague had been sweating buckets, the opponent looked over and saw me.
“Did your substitute arrive?”
My friend ran over to me despite his old age, hysterically thanking me for arriving when I did.
“Thank heavens I’m saved! Are things going well at school?”
“Hmm, whats this a school boys?”
I walked over to the lounge chair Old man Dallas was sitting in. “Well look at this a nobleman.” The man tapped his quil nail file on the table before he addressed me.
“I envy you kids today, you have so much time on your hands. Time for regrets. Whats your name?”
I sat my school brief case on the red velvet colored floor before answering him. “Luca. Irrione.” Rivalz walked over behind me to be awe-struck by the way the chess board had been set up from when Dallas was playing.
“Whoa now wait a second! You can’t win this its impossible!”
Most of the black pieces which were mine had been captured and only a small few of the white ones were captured. “Rivalz. When do you suppose we would have to leave. Too make our next class?” He moved his goggles and looked at his watch before he gave his reply.
“um 20 minutes if we bust our humps.”
“Then be sure you drive safely on the way back.” Rivalz’ jaw dropped at my confidence. I sat down in the comfy lounge chair but sat at the edge with great posture. “I’ll need 9 minutes.” I looked over at Dallas to make sure he hadn’t forgotten to write me a pass for a leave of temporary absence. “Oh and by the way about yesterday?”
“Understood sir. We’ll discuss it later.”
The nobleman leaned back in his chair as he scoffed at my needed time.
“9 minutes? You only have twenty seconds per move!”
The timer rewound itself back to the starting point as it beeped, I picked up the black king piece and held it in my hand. “Enough time.”
“You start with the king! HAHAHA”
I smiled back at him with entertainment.
*****Ashford academy******
“Where’s Luca?” Student body president Milly Ashford asked.
“He went somewhere with Rivalz!” Vice president Sherry answered.
“What, maybe its poker this time.”
“They seem to forget that they’re on the student council! They’re off gambling for money” Sherry said as she held a small tomato from her salad on her fork. “Lulu may be smart but he wastes his brain on stupid things! If only he’d apply himself in school he’d get high grades!” Sherry put the tomato in her mouth.
“‘oh I wish my darling Lulu would be a serious young man.’ How adorable is that?” Milly laughed as she made fun of Sherry causing her to blush.
“Please madam president.”
“Perfect! After we finally steal this damn thing! It’s all because Thomas couldn’t stick to Nathan’s plan. And now we’ve got a problem!” Jack said as he drove the truck.
The poor nobleman dropped his nail file as i placed my king down on the chess board, effectively calling checkmate. His mouth wide open as his jaw dropped from shock. “Thank you for the match Mr. Spacer.” I smiled a picked up my briefcase and walked towards the elevator. There was a loud thump as the nobleman fell out of his chair. The doors opened and Rivalz and I walked inside. I hit the button for the 1st floor and waited for the doors to close. I leaned back on the railing and looked outside the glass windows as we went down.
“I love playing against nobility! When they loose they always pay out of pride. By the way 8 minutes 32 seconds is a new record.”
The doors opened and we walked into the lobby of the hotel. “He also didn’t have much time to move either. And as the nobles go, the opponents are tepid. They’re just over privileged parasites that’s all.” Rivalz ran ahead of me and held open the large glass door.
“Well then, why don’t you challenge one of the 11’s. They’re nothing compared to us Britanians!”
I looked up at a monitor that was behind Rivalz as it showed an image of a building with smoke rising from it. A crowd of people were gathered and their idiotic conversations could be heard.
“What are they trying to prove by killing innocent people. Stupid terrorists” “Those 11’s terrify me!”
The image was replaced with the symbol of the Britanian flag. A Chimera composed of a lion and a snake rising up from the ground.
“We apologize for the delay. Now his royal highness prince Clovis 3rd prince of Britannia will now address the nation.”
The voice was of a woman over a PA system as the screen changed to reveal Prince Clovis.
“To all my imperial subjects. Including of course the many cooperative 11’s who choose to serve the empire of Britannia. Do you not see my pain. My heart was ripped from my chest, only to be torn apart. The remnants are filled with rage and sadness. However as ruler of area 11. I will not tolerate terrorism of any kind! Because, the battle we fight is a righteous one! A virtuous battle, to protect the well-being of one and all! Now everyone, I would like you to join me in a moment of silence. To observe the 8 who died for justice.” “A moment of silence please.”
I walked over to the pay meter parking spot where electric motorcycle was parked and inserted the ticket.
“Aren’t you going to join in?”
Rivalz got my attention but i knew what he meant. “Aren’t you?” He leaned over on the seat as the parking barrier was dropped allowing him to pull out his bike.
“It’s sort of embarrassing.”
“And i agree with you. Besides, shedding tears over those people won’t bring them back to life now will it?”
“Damn, that’s dark buddy.”
The machine printed out a receipt. “It’s all about self-satisfaction. Doesn’t matter how hard you try. You can’t do it. There’s no way you can change the world.”
***Nobleman party***
The ‘A’ camera rose up as Clovis walked off stage.
“Fantastic work your highness. No one would ever guess you were attending a party whilst doing that.”
“After all the Viceroy is the face of area 11. I need to be able to change roles quickly.”
“My you’re so self-confident!”
“Self-confidence? I’m just trying to please the media people.”
“oh, no, no! We’re pleased to be of any assistance in your reign, Prince Clovis.”
“His reign is a pathetic sham.” Detard whispered to himself looking over a script.
Your highness!” Said a staggering millitary person as he came running into the room.
“How boorish of you!”
“I beg your pardon your highness, my lord.
“Not another performance for him.” Detard again whispered as he started to walk off.
“You fool!
“The police were informed it was medical equipment that they stole that’s all. If we scramble the army-“
“Deploy the Royal guard! The Knightmares as well!”
****Knightmare hanger****
“Alert 1, Alert 1. 4th, 7th, and 8th reaction companies. As well as the 31st air assault group. Immediate scramble!”
Units Jeremiah, Viletta, and Cline all jumped into their knightmares as the hatches shut.
“That first move you made…”
Rivalz asked me as we drove down the highway towards school. I looked up from my book to look at him from the passenger’s seat on the bike. “Hmm.”
“Why did you start with the king?”
I rolled my eyes and gave him my answer. “If the king doesn’t lead, how can he expect his subordinates to follow.”
“What’s up with that?”
“What’s with what?”
“Do you fantasize about running a major corporation?”
“No way ambitions like that will ruin your health.” There was a loud honking noise behind us. I turned my head back and saw a large truck speeding and honking his horn at us.
“You idiot watch where you’re going!”
The driver swerved as he made a detour. A woman could be heard yelling at him from within as he turned.
“No! Not that way!”
He drove through a restriction bar and crashed into what looked like an abandoned building. There was a large dust cloud that took form from their crash. Rivalz stopped the bike and we both looked at the accident.
:”Umm…was that our fault?”
I looked at the accident when I gave him my reply. “I don’t think so.”
****Military channel****
“Control the target has crashed at the abandoned V.O. Building construction site.”
****Military base****
General Bartley walked away from the room where the party was talking to himself.
“We have to retrieve it! No matter what! That thing is…In the wrong hands.”
****Crash site****
I pulled off my helmet and goggles and walked over to the edge of the highway bridge. Staring at the truck there were little glowing lights, like sparks.
“Oh man this sucks! Hey Luca I think the power line on the bike got cut.”
“yeah. Hey Rivalz would you come look at this.” I could hear the pedestrians gathering as they looked at the accident.
“Hey look over here.” “Probably a drunk driver.” “Hey maybe somebody better go help them.”
People were all grabbing their phones and other devices to take pictures of the accident.
All those fools.
I threw my helmet and goggles into the passenger’s seat and ran over to the site of the accident. I looked at the truck and walked over to the driver’s seat. “Hey! Are you alright?” I looked and saw a ladder that seemed to lead to the top of the trailer. I reached my hand out and grabbed ahold of one of the bars. I climbed up and shouted. “Hey! Can you hear me?”
“It’s you! Finally I have found…”
There was a voice inside my head. It was a young girls voice. It disappeared and there was no young girl nearby. From how loud her voice was she would’ve had to have been close, but there was nobody. What.
The truck made a sudden jerk as the tires screeched. I fell inside the trailer as the driver took off. “No! Wait, stop I’m in here!” There was a large thump as they must’ve driven over a speed-bump. I looked around for a ladder so I could climb out but there was none. “Ugh, you’d think they would stick a ladder on the inside as well.” I looked and saw some kind of tanker inside. I tried to climb up it but then heard over speakers outside.
“Stop the vehicle! Surrender now and you’ll still have the chance to defend yourself in court. Stop and surrender at once!”
Shots could be heard outside as the truck constantly swerved. Probably to avoid the bullets. I could hear the driver and the passenger talking as they drove down what I presumed to be the highway.
“Damn what do we do that’s the military!” “Have you forgotten that’s what I’m here for!”
I sat down on the tanker and weighed my options. “If I jump out I have the choice of either breaking my neck or getting shot. Maybe if I try my cellphone…” I tried to pull my phone out of my inner breast pocket of my school uniform. I stopped when I heard the door connected to the truck open. I hid behind the tanker out of sight from anyone inside. From inside a woman with crimson red hair walked out, taking off a lab coat.
“Can you enter the subway via the Azabu route?”
“Collin, lets use it here, why not?”
“Because that would mean a bloodbath.”
She climbed up a small set of portable stairs and pulled the tarp off of a large contraption. It revealed a Knightmare. That girl I’ve seen her somewhere before.
****Military channel****
“Target is moving from the settlement to the ghetto.”
“Copy that! Swing around and corner them.”
****Crash site****
“Luca where are you!? We’ve gotta get to school!”
The woman climbed inside of the Knightmare and switched it on before opening the hatch in the back of the trailer. She shot a knightmares claw that was called a slash harken. She and the knightmare jumped out of the trailer as the back support wheels were deployed. I tried to escape by jumping out as well but the doors closed. “Shit! These guys are actual terrorists!”
****Highway Brawl****
“You fellas know full well what this bad ass mother can do!”
Collin screamed as she maneuvered on the highway, dodging the bullets that were shot at her.
“The rest of you back off. I’ll take this guy.”
Jeremiah said as his knightmare was air flown into battle.
“I can only assume you dug that obsolete relic out of some scrap heap. An over the hill Glasko is no match for a Sutherland!”
Jeremiah was dropped from the sky as his knightmare awoke.
“Not to mention a filthy 11 who spurns the compassion of our glorious emperor!”
Jeremiah shot a grenade round at Collin’s Knightmare causing it to shake the inside. Over the radio Josh could be heard.
“Collin we should both split up! Both of us can’t risk being killed! Run for it!”
“But!” Was Collin’s response. Villeta’s Knightmare scaled up between two buildings before trying to cut Josh off at the intersection. Quickly he made a sharp turn into the route that would lead into the subways.
“Heh, simple-minded 11.”
Collin tried to launch her Slash Harken but it failed to do so. “Ugh! No way! It’s stuck!” Jeremiah deployed his dull sword piece to bash the arm of Collin’s Glasko.
“Second-hand junk!”
He raised his weapon to slash at the arm but no sooner did the hand of the Glasko shoot from its socket, saving Collin’s hide. In the clash there was a cloud of smoke and dust, giving Collin the perfect chance to escape.
“I’ll admit I really like your spirit. However..”
I pulled my cellphone out of my breast pocket and looked up to see we were passing underneath a bridge of some kind. I flipped open my phone and got zero signal. :”No cellphone reception. Were out of range. Judging from the darkness and road surface we must be driving along the old subway line. They’re headed for an exit somewhere in the ghetto. Getting out would be dangerous…but still. Okay I’ve got it. I’m not big on the military but I’ll take their protection. If I give them a terrorists communicator…Oh wait I forgot.”
“Some friend leaving me behind like that!”
Rivalz yelled at himself angry at Luca while pushing his bike along the sidewalk.
****Military grounds****
“what are you doing?” General Bartley asked as the scientist examined him.
“Looking at a man who blundered am I right?” Lloyd of the special corps answered.
“Why You!”
“You really screwed this one up. Terrorists came along and stole whatever it was that you and Prince Clovis were ‘secretly’ working on. Retrieving it is simple, but you want to sweep up all of their compatriots in addition. Let the terrorists go and you can find their hideout to.” Lloyd said as he explained the situation out loud. “Congratulations your reasoning was spot on!” Lloyd said as he turned around to address Cecile Croomy, a member of the corps and friend to him.
“It was nothing, I Just thought it was strange.” She answered him nervously.
“Okay that’s enough what is the special corps wants out of this?” Bartley yelled at Lloyd as he turned back around to face him.
“I’m merely saying that I would like to assist with the clean-up.”
“To assist?”
“That’s right because It’s data that I want!”
Ms. Cecile questioned what the terrorists stole. “Excuse me. But what in the world have they just stolen anyway?”
“Ugh, chemical weapons. In other words…poison gas.”
****Military channel****
“The terrorists are hiding in the subway system. Your mission is to locate the weapon they’ve stolen. Investigate the old subway system that runs through the 11 residential district, and the Bismark ghetto. Report in the moment you sight the target. Recovery of the target will be handled by us, the royal guard. You people bear the honorary title of Britanian’s now but you were born 11’s. Therefore the stench of these monkeys outta be a familiar one. If you want to earn the right to carry arms then show some results. This is your opportunity to show your loyalty to Britannia!”
“Yes my lord!” Answered multiple soldiers.
I sat on the tanker that was inside of the trailer when suddenly it shook like crazy. “Ugh, an accident! Or else..?” I stood up and could hear the tires screeching. The driver must’ve gotten stuck in a pothole. The small computer flashed on and a green light opened up the small door on the left side of the trailer.
****Britanian soldier’s POV****
I stood in the subway ticket booth when I suddenly heard a loud crash. Using the night vision goggles that were a part of my mask I was able to see the truck the terrorists were driving. I tapped my report in device that was on my chest twice to signal HQ.
****Military channel****
“404 has sighted the target!”
“Rodger, Prepare for recovery.”
I looked at the container now that I had some better lighting. “Great, now I can use this chance to climb up.” I grabbed onto the top of the container when I heard fast footsteps getting closer. I turned around to see a soldier running towards me. He jumped into the air before twisting around to try to kick me. I quickly raised my arm to guard against the attack, managing only to half-heatedly defend myself. His kick was powerful enough to throw me onto the ground. He grabbed my throat as he held me on the ground. “Ugh, are you Britanian?” Was all that I was able to manage before he pushed down on my throat harder, His gas mask fell off revealing his mouth.
“That’s enough mindless murder!”
He told me, his voice shaky almost nervous. “Wait I’m not one of-”
“Planning to use poison gas? Don’t play dumb with me!”
“Ugh,Get off!” I twisted my body and kicked him off of me. He jumped back and stood as I rose up, my raven black hair in my eyes. “And if that’s poison gas it was made in Britannia wasn’t it?”
“Ugh, my god!”
I could hear him whisper to himself as he looked at me. “Mindless murder? Then why don’t you just obliterate Britannia!”
“Luca, it’s me.”
I could feel my eyes widen as he said my name. The soldier grabbed his helmet and pried it off his head, showing me his face.
“It’s me, Shawn.”
I hadn’t been this surprised in a while, my best friend….Shawn Kagan. His chocolate locks and green eyes made it unmistakably him. Images of him and I playing together 7 years ago flashed into my head. As well as images of him and I during the war. “Y-you became a britanian soldier?”
“Yeah, and what about you? You’re a-”
“What are you saying!” I was cut off when the container activated. The pressure locks releasing as it opened up. There were bright flashes of multicolor lights shining from within as it opened. I stood in shock until Shawn pushed me on the ground, his gas mask covering my mouth. The container opened up all the way, but what was inside was no gas. No, it was…a girl. She had a white prisoners robe on covering her mouth and body, held together with black straps. Her hair was an emerald-green color.
“That’s not poison gas…what is it?”
I heard Shawn say as the water inside splashed outside the trailer. She opened her eyes for a brief moment to show her golden eyes.
****Glasko cockpit****
“In all the confusion I left it in the coat pocket.” Collin said over the Glaskos radio.
“That’s okay the Glaskos circuits are still usable. So were we right?” Otto asked over the radio.
“Think so. I bet it’s poison gas like intelligence said.”
“And Josh?”
“I don’t know. I think he made it underground.”
“Tell me the truth Shawn, poison gas, this girl?” I questioned Shawn while I held the unconscious girl in my arms.
“Hey it’s what they told us in the briefing I swear!”
While he unzipped the girls restraints I worked on removing her mouth guard. There was a sudden flash of light from the entrance to the subway.
“Stinking monkey!”
A man said as he walked down the stairs with a platoon of soldiers behind him. From the looks of his outfit he must have been a general or supervisor.
“Being an honorary Britannia will not excuse you!”
Shawn stood up and ran over to where and tried to defend himself.
“But sir! I was told this was poison gas!”
“How dare you question orders!
I still sat there with the girl in my arms while Shawn was being yelled at. “This is bad! Poised in this situation. Which would pose a threat to Shawn’s superiors if it’s unleashed.”
“However in light of your outstanding military achievements I’m going to be merciful. Private Kagan take this and execute the terrorist!”
I looked up to see that the man was handing Shawn a handgun.
“But he’s not a terrorist! He’s a civilian who got caught up in all this!”
“You insubordinate little…That’s an order didn’t you swear your loyalty and your life to Britannia!?”
“yes, but…but. I can’t!”
I had realized what Shawn had said.
“I won’t do it sir! I won’t shoot a civilian! I can’t follow your orders sir.”
Shawn turned around to face me, a small smile on his lips.
“Very well.”
The general pulled the slide back on the gun and put it at Shawn’s . Shawn turned his head to late to realize.
The general had shot Shawn at point-blank range. “Shawn!” His body fell to the ground as the general smiled.
“Well Britaniaian school boy not a very good day to cut class. Collect the girl, and once you’ve done that kill the student.”
“Yes my lord.”
****Driver’s seat****
Josh lied on both seats as the blood from his open-wound leaked out. His eyesight blurred and failing by the minute. He reached over by the keys and fumbled with the buttons next to them. “Death to Britannia. Long live…America.” He managed to mumble before he pushed the lowest switch and detonated the bomb in the engines. The truck exploded killing Josh.
****Military mobile base****
“They got away! And you call yourselves the royal guard!” General Bartley yelled at his underling.
“Umm, forgive me my lord. The blast was mainly directed upwards, but the-”
“Why the hell do you think I only told you people about this!”
“The plan has moved forward into the next phase.” Prince Clovis said irritated.
“B-but your highness!”
“If knowledge of her gets out I’ll be disinherited. Tell them back home we’re carrying out a plan for urban renewal here. As Clovis 3rd prince of the empire I command you, destroy Bismark ghetto leave no one alive!”
****Bismark Ghetto****
“The army is garbage that could never even hope of becoming honorary Britanians. Wipe out every last one of them.”
Bartley could be heard over the radio barking orders at the Royal Guard members.
“Naturally.” Jeremiah said as he continued shooting bombs into the middle of the already destroyed buildings.
“Supervisor Jeremiah, General Bartley has requested that you take command at-”
“Bartley has staff officers. I haven’t had this much fun on the front lines in ages!”
****Subway tunnels****
The girl and I were running down the old destroyed tunnels after the truck had exploded. From up above explosions could be heard and lights from the bombs could be seen through cracks in the ceiling. The girl tripped and fell in front of me. I then remembered that she was in the tanker that was supposedly filled with ‘Poison gas’. She had a pained expression on her face from her fall, but I could do nothing to help her as I thought about the situation. “What the hell are you!? This chaos is all your fault isn’t it? Uhh!” I leaned against the wall and put my hand over my face as I processed the situation. “Not only that but Britania has…Even killed Shawn!” The girl looked up at me with eyes full of pity. Her golden eyes could almost peer right through me.
****Trailer next to mobile command****
“Not here?” Lloyd asked, sitting on the steps of his personalized trailer.
“Yes, it looks like he’s gone to the front lines.” Cecil explained standing in front of Lloyd.
“Even though we brought the Lancelot here?”
“Now what do we do?”
“We steam-rolled our way in here but we don’t have a pilot who can control it.” Holding the USB key in his hand twirling it around by the piece of elastic.
****Subway exit tunnels****
The girl and I made it to an exit out of the subways. However I could hear the Military units outside so we crawled up the stone stairs quietly. “Stay quiet and wait here.” I whispered to her as I resumed crawling on my hands and knees up the stairs. I peeked my head up over the edge of the stairs and saw a man being shot to death by a soldier. The man fell over dropping his cell phone that was now covered in blood.
I heard a man say. The voice was familiar.
“We found only 11’s here sir.”
I looked over and saw the man’s face. It was the same soldier who shot Shawn in the back.
“You’re sure, that exit comes out here.”
“Yes sir. That exit matches up with our map of the old city.”
I turned my head away and heard what sounded like a small child crying. Whipping my head forward to see my thoughts were correct. The little girl had a blood stained teddy bear in her hands and was hiding in a corner. A soldier walked over too and shot her with a burst from his gun, silencing her. I stared at the soldier as he walked away. Then suddenly at the worst possible time, my cell phone rang. My eyes opened wide as its noise alerted the soldiers. I quickly reached my hand into my pocket and hit the end button silencing it.

Shirley stood still as her phones dial tone suddenly went silent. She looked at her phone and read the screen that read. “Lulu has ignored your call.” She whipped her phone shut enraged at his actions. “That jerk he hung up on me, I can’t believe it!”
****Subway exit****
The soldiers had found me and the girl and beat me senselessly with the butts of their guns. One of the soldiers had hit my cheek with his gun and it was a hard enough hit to send me flying. My back hit the metal wall hard, I closed my eyes from the shock of impact. The girl was being held captive behind two riffles. She tried to move past them to stop my beating, but was forced back by the two soldiers.
“What an appropriate place for a terrorist to meet his end.”
“You scum…” Was all I could manage after the beating that had just taken place.
“Still you did well for a student, but that’s to be expected. You’re a Britanian. Unfortunately for you no future.”
I looked up and cringed as the General pulled out his gun and aimed it at me. The girl suddenly broke past the men guarding her and screamed.
“He mustn’t die!”
She ran in front of me and took the bullet. There was a sort of high-pitched whirring noise that sounded after she was hit, it attracted everyone’s attention. The girl fell to the ground and could be seen with a bullet hole in her forehead. She had a faint smile on her face. “You shot her!” I knelt down beside her and looked at her. The man scoffed at seeing the girl, blood starting to pour out from underneath her. I reached my arm down nearly touching her hand.
“Our orders were to bring her back alive if possible. Oh well nothing can be done about it now. We’ll tell our superiors that we found the terrorists hide out and killed them all. Regrettably the female hostage had already been tortured to death. What do you think school boy?”
“How can this be happening? First Shawn’s killed, and then this girl, and now I’m about to die. Before I’ve had a single chance to do anything with my life. It’s gone in a heart beat. Anna Lee… “
Suddenly the girl who had been shot grabbed my hand and held it tightly. I felt almost weightless as I felt myself almost being teleported.
“You don’t want it to end here do you?”
A voice sounded through my head as everything went black for a moment.
“You appear to have a reason for living”
“That girl. That’s impossible.”
“If I grant you power, could you go on?”
There were flashes of light but they didn’t seem to be coming from reality but some other perspective.
“I purpose a deal. In exchange for this power you must make my one wish come true. Accept this contract and you accept it’s conditions. While living in the world of humans you will live unlike any other.”
There were multiple images of both me and the gir, as well as what looked like two planets almost coliding with one another. There were white feathers that floated past and changed the images.
“A different providence, a different time, a different life.”
There was a sudden images of almost a tunnel of blue light that I was flowing down. An image of what looked to be a group of religious followers with strange tattoos on their foreheads they were praying. I felt like I was floating.
“The power of the king will condemn you to a life of solitude. Are you prepared for this? Are you prepared for the power of the Aeon?”
The light faded and showed a shot of a man with silvery white hair. He stood in front of a large pillar.
“A convergence with the Ragnarok connection! So the myth is beginning once again!?”
The man spoke and I knew exactly who it was. Charles Li. Britania…My father!
I felt rage and anger from seeing him once again.
“Yes! I hereby accept the terms of your contract!” There was a loud bang as two gears became in sync.
I regained sight from what had just happened. I stood up covering my left eye. “Say, how should a Britanian who detests his own country live his life?”
“Are you some kind of radical?”
The soldier smiled in amusement before his expression faded. “What’s wrong? Why not shoot. Your opponent is just a school boy. Or have you finally realized…that the only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed.” I moved my hand as the power I was given awakened. The power of Aeon.
“W-what’s happening here!?”
“I Luca Vi. Britania, command you. Now all of you. Die!” I stared into their eyes as my power did what it’s supposed to. It felt like a beam was fired from my eye but with my right eye I could see that there was none. It infiltrated their minds and altered their intentions. The supervisor laughed before he raised his gun to his temple.
“Happily your highness!”
His subordinates raised their sidearms to their temples and awaited the order.
The man pulled trigger and killed himself, the other soldiers soon followed behind him. A small splash of blood landed on my cheek and I had then realized what I had done.
“That was the turning point, since that day. I’ve lived a lie. The lie of living. My name too was a lie. My personal history too, a lie. Nothing but lies. I was sick to death of a world that couldn’t be changed. But even in my lies, I refused to give up in despair. But now this incredible power…Is mine.”
I smiled devilishly at the self-realization. “Well then…”
